Heinz, the son of Petra and a police officer from the same town as Schumann, was highly ambitious, aiming to climb the ranks quickly. This drive often led him to neglect his mother and her feelings of loneliness.
Upon discovering that Tenma was in town, Heinz became obsessed with capturing him, even if it meant disrupting his mother's surgery. Schumann intervened, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions, which made Heinz stop waving his gun around the operating table.
Schumann later convinced Heinz that it would be unjust to imprison Tenma considering all he had done. Consequently, Heinz contacted his superiors and apologized, claiming he had "mistaken another man for Tenma because they were both Asian."
