The hero of the story. A classmate of Kosaka from their elementary school days. He was known as 'Haru-chan' because he looked like a girl. He has had feelings for Mimori ever since they were young. He claims he was betrayed by Mimori, but in truth, he felt jealous when, at the end of their graduation in elementary school, a boy gave Mimori his button. Haruta became a delinquent and changed his appearance after being unintentionally rejected by Mimori in elementary school.
