Haru's father, Gale, along with King, established the Demon Card (known as Shadow Guard in the English dub) to safeguard the people. However, Gale departed when he grew disenchanted with the organization's direction. Attempting to stop King, he faced a tragic outcome as King's family was brutally murdered. Prior to the Ultimate Shadow Stone being embedded in his body, Gale endured his former friend's wrath, which left him scarred and witnessed his wife's murder.

Gale later resurfaced to aid his son in defeating King and ultimately sacrificed himself to save Haru before the tower collapsed. Before his death, he entrusted his sword to Shuda to protect his family, a weapon Shuda later used to battle Deep Snow. His full name is "Gale Symphonia Glory."
