Futaba is a sixth-grader who stands quite short, much to his dismay. He has three older siblings who are overly protective and constantly check up on him by calling his phone. Despite being sweet-natured, Futaba can be stubborn and easily irritated at times.
One day, Kiara falls from the sky and calls him her "master." However, it turns out that he wasn't her true master but merely a boy with similar energy. When a massive creature attacks Kiara, Futaba steps in to help her, and they manage to escape together into another world.
Now, Futaba has Lady Bel-Bel by his side because he owes her for her assistance. Additionally, he has Prince Virid (the insane) tagging along since Futaba found the prince wounded and helped him against his will. Virid now follows him around like an overly attached younger brother.
Futaba remains optimistic and often reassures himself and others with his catchphrase, "It'll all work out! ...Probably!"
