Fumiko is Atsushi's mother and Ikuo's elder sister. In the present day, she is deeply involved with a religious cult, which has led to her mental state deteriorating significantly. She isolates herself from everyone around her. Fumiko was extremely strict with Atsushi, expecting nothing less than excellence and viewing people as either "winners" or "losers."
