Exa is the Hero who envisions a world where monsters and humans can coexist in harmony. He cherishes all forms of life, both human and monster, and holds firm to the belief that the ongoing war can conclude without the annihilation of either race. However, Exa makes an exception for the Demon Queen, whose heinous acts, including the murder of his family and friends, he cannot forgive. Exa believes that with the Demon Queen's demise, peace can be restored to the world.
Though Exa generally maintains a cool and composed demeanor, he relaxes around those he trusts. He is inherently peaceful, kind, and calm. Despite his usual composure, he can become short-tempered at times, particularly around Sheila. Even as a boy, Exa was a pacifist who shunned violence, a trait his neighbors considered misguided. This attitude manifests whenever he refuses to harm other monsters, opting instead to flee from battles or seek diplomatic resolutions. This often frustrates Sheila, as it frequently puts Exa in peril (requiring her to rescue him). His readiness to trust strangers and protect both humans and monsters alike leads her to label him naive and a "simpleton".
