Elie is a vivacious and optimistic girl, often seen wearing a tight-fitting midriff top and a mini skirt. Her fiery temper was evident when she destroyed a casino after losing a bet. She first encountered Haru Glory at the casino, where she almost won at roulette until Plue accidentally jogged the table, causing the ball to move. After Haru saves her, she joins his group. Elie reveals to Haru that she is searching for her lost memories and hopes to find someone who can tell her her real name, birthday, or the identity of her parents. Haru promises to help her in this quest. Elie has an insatiable love for casinos and frequently drags the group to one whenever they encounter one. She bears a striking resemblance to Resha Valentine, the creator of the Rave stones. As the story progresses, Elie begins to develop romantic feelings for Haru, who reciprocates these feelings. However, she eventually learns that she must leave Haru and their friends, leading to a period of depression before she quickly recovers during a dance contest. A year before the series begins, Elie awakens with no memory of her past, only to witness a scene of devastation in the distance. She is attacked by a mysterious blue-haired man (later revealed to be Sieg Hart) but survives. Naming herself after the tattoo on her left arm, which reads "Elie," she doesn't realize she had read it upside-down; the actual text was "3173." Sieg later informs her that her true name is Experiment #3173, modeled after Resha Valentine, who supposedly sacrificed herself to create the Rave stones using Etherion power. It is later discovered that the tattoos represent map coordinates ELIE-3173, which Griffon Kato uses to locate Resha's tomb on Symphonia. In Volume 31, it is revealed that Elie is actually Resha. Contrary to historical accounts, Resha did not die from Etherion poisoning; instead, her death was staged to preserve her power for a future battle against Endless fifty years later. This plan was known only to the King of Symphonia, Haru’s grandfather, who went by the name Kaim. Elie was kept in a magic-induced sleep to preserve her youth until a year before the start of the series, waking up when Sieg destroyed the lab.
