May contain spoilers: The second Titan released from Tartarus by Pontus. Unlike the other Titans, Iapetos exhibits a notably childish personality. He is quick to anger, overly confident, and takes pride in his power, often showing it off. Iapetos is sarcastic, rude, and sadistic, even with his siblings. He has an androgynous appearance and is sometimes depicted wearing lipstick. Despite his personality, Iapetos is incredibly strong. During his fight against Mu, which was interrupted by Cronus, he left the battle unscathed, while the Aries Saint, one of the strongest Gold Saints, was covered in blood. Although completely loyal to Cronus, Iapetos can act independently if he deems it necessary. Once, this led to his discovery by Cronus, whereupon he offered his life as penance but was "saved" by Hyperion's intervention. Even so, Iapetos seems to hold a grudge against Hyperion and Coeus, treating them with disdain. Iapetos kidnapped Lithos to lure Aioria into Cronus' Labyrinth. While most Titans can create dimensional portals to travel from Cronus' Labyrinth to Earth, Iapetos appears to be the only one who can fully control these portals. He can open and expand them with a simple gesture or even without it, using them effectively in battle. He can also control Hecatonchires telepathically, using them as war tools. It is unknown if his telepathic control extends to other beings inferior to him. In mythology and Episode G, Iapetos is Themis' husband and Atlas' father, though Atlas has not played a role in the story, only being mentioned by Themis.
