Dauf was initially ranked third among his generation of Claymores, only surpassed by Rigaldo and Isley. He is now a follower and lover to Riful, aiding her in tormenting captured Claymores and compelling them to Awaken.
In his Awakened form, Dauf transforms into a colossal humanoid with immense strength and incredibly durable armor plating. He can generate large rods from his armor, typically from his hands, back, or mouth, which he uses as projectiles. According to Riful, she chose Dauf as her lover because he was the only Yoma who could accept her without breaking; however, despite his formidable physical prowess, Dauf lacks intelligence and tactical acumen. His regeneration and healing capabilities are also notably slow.
During his first appearance, Dauf managed to hold his ground against Clare and Galatea, neither of whom could penetrate his armor. However, he was ultimately defeated when Jean inflicted a significant wound on his chest, nearly ending his life. Riful had to intervene to save him. Dauf is deeply devoted to Riful and lives in constant fear that she might one day abandon him.
He aided Riful in her battle against Alicia, Beth, and the Abyss feeders, which resulted in the loss of his right hand and legs. He has also been struck by projectiles. Priscilla suggests that Dauf may have deliberately allowed himself to be hit but forgot his original purpose while protecting Riful. This is evident when he carelessly throws Riful's body onto the ground like trash upon encountering Priscilla.
