Although his name literally means "Good Luck," Daikichi feels incredibly unlucky. Having just lost his job and apartment, details he doesn't elaborate on, he is contemplating suicide when he moves into a dilapidated, supposedly haunted building. There, he meets Kana, the resident ghost. In later chapters of the story, he tries to learn more about who Kana was in life and ends up visiting a mass grave that is said to contain Kana's remains.
