The owner of the inn that Natsumi Takashi visits in episode 8. It is mentioned that when she was young, she developed feelings for someone named Keiichi, who was about Takashi's age. However, Keiichi was ill. One day, when his condition worsened, Chizu went to Sasafune to obtain mermaid blood. She gave Keiichi the blood, and he was subsequently transferred to a distant hospital. Believing she had caused Keiichi suffering, she spends every day waiting for him at a train station. It is revealed at the end of the episode that Sasafune did not give Chizu a vial of mermaid blood. Instead, it was a vial of grape juice.
