Chiharu Mihara is a friend and classmate of Sakura Kinomoto, as well as a fellow member of the cheerleading squad. She often takes charge to stop Takashi Yamazaki when he starts fabricating stories about the history of objects and events. Though she is frequently seen playfully strangling him or dragging him away by his collar, they have been friends since kindergarten and are actually a couple. At the end of the series, when Sakura struggles with her feelings for Syaoran, Chiharu offers advice on love and acknowledging true feelings.
In the anime adaptation, Chiharu and Yamazaki's relationship is less clearly defined, but she gives him chocolates for Valentine's Day, and they are often seen together both in and out of school. In a world where everyone connected to the cards loses their feelings for their loved ones, Chiharu and Yamazaki react to each other as if they were strangers. In the English adaptation "Cardcaptors," Chiharu's name is changed to Chelsea, and her relationship with Yamazaki is altered to that of cousins displaying sibling rivalry.
She is voiced by Miwa Matsumoto in the original anime series, by Jocelyne Loewen in Cardcaptors, and by Dorothy Elias-Fahn in the English dub of the second film.
