Ayane is Suzu's rival, perpetually facing defeat at her hands and yearning for just one victory. Despite looking younger, she is actually 16 years old. Feeling underdeveloped compared to Suzu's sudden growth spurt, Ayane harbors jealousy. She has an intense fear of her older sister, Machi, and relies on anesthetic darts as her primary weapon. Her ambition is to capture Ikuto, thereby outshining Suzu. Alongside Machi and their mother Chizuru—who Ikuto initially mistook for Ayane's sister—Ayane serves as a miko at the local shrine. She also often uses a giant ostrich named Monjiro for transportation.
