Athena is a member of the Tennousu family and has primarily appeared in the manga. In the anime, she is only briefly seen during a flashback where Hayate reminisces about his first girlfriend. Her parents are presumed missing or deceased, as she lives alone. She was Hayate's old girlfriend and also his first mistress, whom he met ten years ago. Due to his young age at the time, he affectionately called her "A-tan".
Her family owns Hakuou Academy, and she serves as the school's board chairman.
In the manga, it is revealed that Athena still harbors feelings for Hayate despite their decade-long separation. When they reunite, she initially lies to him, claiming not to remember him anymore. Later, as she prepares to leave for Greece, Hayate confesses his feelings, and she responds with a kiss, marking their first kiss in ten years.
During the fourth season, she appears more frequently and becomes one of the tenants at Nagi's dormitory.
