One of the few top-class arch demons of Makai, ranking alongside Satan himself. He serves as the primary antagonist in this manga and is Mikami's arch nemesis. Ashtaroth's scheme involved controlling the world through the "Cosmo Processor," a device that allowed him to manipulate the boundaries between life and death, rearranging the molecular structure of all things at will. When Mikami and his team destroyed the device, the enraged Ashtaroth attempted to annihilate the human world but was ultimately defeated by Yokoshima's true power. It is later revealed that Ashtaroth was actually defying his predetermined role as a "villain" and sought death, yet could not achieve it due to the necessity of maintaining balance.
