Arika is the main character in the series My-Otome. She debuts in the first episode, journeying through the desert to Windbloom in search of information about her mother, who she was informed was an Otome. Witnessing the power of the 3rd Column, Shizuru, inspires her to follow in her mother's footsteps and become an Otome herself. Sometimes, she is affectionately called Anty (Arinko-chan in Japanese), as her name Arika can be read as "蟻か" in Japanese, meaning ant. The visual gag of her head turning into an ant's head illustrates her reaction when someone uses this nickname, which has likely followed her throughout her life. Arika is cheerful and optimistic but lacks the sophistication and "common sense" needed to navigate interactions with royalty due to her rural background. She quickly bonds with the other Corals and Pearls at Garderobe and becomes close friends with most of them, particularly Nina Wáng and Erstin Ho, her roommates. Eventually, Arika obtains her mother's old Meister GEM, the Blue Sky Sapphire, and forms a contract with Mashiro, the current Queen of Wind Bloom. Initially, she struggles to harness its full potential, but in episode 25, she finally acquires the final Robe of her GEM, the Ultimate Blue Sky Robe, once worn by her mother. In Mai-Otome Zwei, she retains the incomplete form of her Robe during materialization but can summon her final Robe at any time using Materialization Zwei, a unique ability of Arika. Her Element takes the form of a crystal spear named the Blue Sky Spear. Her primary Element attack is called Bolt from the Blue, and the ultimate form of her Element is the Sword of Akatsuki.
