The main character of B-Shock is a 21-year-old Mechanical Engineering student. Due to an unusual experiment, he finds himself literally bound to Hatsune Nogi, the university's cutest girl. A special watch that he cannot remove from his wrist ensures that if he is more than a meter away from Hatsune, they both will explode.
Arata is a straightforward individual who resides alone in a modest apartment and is accustomed to being self-sufficient. This trait initially leads to clashes with the pampered Hatsune. He has a slightly perverted side and often tries to push boundaries with her until he realizes his feelings for her run deeper, transforming him into someone she can depend on. Despite occasionally acting foolishly, Arata is a proud and sensible person who usually does the right thing and is ready to sacrifice himself for Hatsune.
