The main character, Saruno, is a fifteen-year-old freshman in high school who plays as a third baseman. Known for being loud, obnoxious, and perverted, he frequently tells corny jokes. In his quest to find a girlfriend, Saruno tries out various sports clubs before choosing baseball, hoping to impress Torii Nagi, the polite and sweet manager of the team who once played softball. Impulsive and prone to exaggerating his baseball skills despite being a complete novice, Saruno nonetheless possesses an incredibly powerful swing. He shows great potential as a baseball player, notably becoming the only person to surpass Juunishi's legendary "Mr. Fullswing" Muranaka by hitting the school clock with a baseball from the field—a feat that originally earned Muranaka his title.
