Alexander Gaidar made his first appearance in Battle 180. He is in his early-30s and categorized as both Dou and Satsujin Ken, with his Yami symbol being Ice. His martial art specialty is Command Sambo.
As the Command Sambo Master within Yami's One Shadow Nine Fists, Alexander also mentors Boris Ivanov. Raised in Russia, he eventually joined the army and rose to the rank of colonel before becoming a member of Yami and one of the Nine Fists. Known for his long wavy light-colored hair that reaches his shoulders and unusually dark eyes, he often dresses in an artist's outfit or his military uniform.
Alexander displays a volatile temperament, capable of shifting from nonchalance to fury almost instantly, albeit with less control than Ogata. To find peace away from constant conflict, he took up sculpting and painting. He despises guns, referring to them as "dirty metal," and will not hesitate to kill anyone pointing a gun at him, irrespective of their affiliation.
Proud of Sambo, Alexander sought to demonstrate its superiority over traditional Jujutsu used by Akisame. He shows genuine concern for Boris, engaging in numerous conversations and disowning Boris as his disciple to protect him from potential harm by Yomi.
Interestingly, despite his own quick temper leading to destructive rages, Alexander advised Boris always to stay calm on the battlefield, believing those who lose their composure risk death. This advice may stem from his understanding of their different fighting styles; Boris being Sei-type and Alexander being Dou-type.
