Background: Aion is an ambitious and powerful demon who turned against Pandaemonium, the demon society, in pursuit of his dream of freedom. Tired of the oppressive system in Pandaemonium, he assassinated the demon queen, the mother of all demons. As a natural and charismatic leader, he fled to Earth with other like-minded demons. Aion trusted Chrno greatly, relying on his combat abilities, but Chrno did not agree with some of Aion's ideas and eventually left to be with Magdalene. This betrayal deeply wounded Aion, though he still hopes to have Chrno as an ally if he ever returns to the cause. Aion genuinely cares for his followers and desires the best for them, but he is willing to sacrifice them if it means achieving his ultimate goal: the complete destruction of Pandaemonium and the "rebirth" of the world. He views humans merely as tools and has no concern for their future. Despite his intelligence and resourcefulness, Aion has a weakness: his intense hatred and fear of Pandaemonium, which borders on obsession. He harbors hidden feelings for the demon queen that run deeper than most suspect. While many see Aion as a cruel villain, he is actually a noble figure beneath it all, driven by a tragic past and obsessed with realizing his greatest dream, regardless of the means or consequences. His followers hold him in high regard and are willing to die for him.
