In the anime, Aine-chan doesn't appear until the series is halfway through! Λucifer has endured numerous challenges to become a popular band by the time Sakuya finally meets Aine after nearly hitting her with his motorcycle. Although Aine's personality remains shy, she isn't as weak-willed as portrayed in the manga. Aine is an extremely lonely girl. Her parents are almost never home, and when they are, they argue frequently and ignore her. At school, she has a boyfriend, but he treats her rudely and merely uses her to do his homework. She does have two friends, but they are so carefree and obsessed with bands that she doesn't feel much of a connection with them. To cope with her loneliness, Aine-chan writes a song where she pours her emotions. After meeting Sakuya, she accidentally leaves her lyrics behind. He discovers them and becomes intrigued by Aine. Once she joins Λucifer as their songwriter, she works diligently to create music for them. Her relationship with Sakuya develops much more gradually.
