A student at Kamisaid Magic Academy, Ahito becomes a challenge for his new instructor, Hibiki, after she takes on the role of teacher for his class. He harbors a deep disdain for magic and prefers to rely on technology, particularly firearms, in combat situations.
Initially, Ahito shows no trust in Hibiki and confronts her to a duel. During this confrontation, with Shirotsuki's assistance, Hibiki casts a spell that forces Ahito to relive his most painful memory. Moved by what she sees, Hibiki gains Ahito's acceptance and friendship.
Ahito possesses a unique magical ability in his eyes, which can heal others' wounds when he gazes upon them. However, using this power drains his life force, causing him severe injuries. To prevent this, Ahito almost always wears sunglasses. He is also skilled in marksmanship.
Having lost his parents during the great war, Ahito lived with his grandmother before transferring to Kamisaid. At the academy, he is considered a problem student due to his habit of sleeping through classes and his negative attitude towards magic. Playful and often disregarding the rules, Ahito has a tendency to get himself and Hibiki into trouble. He affectionately calls Shiraasan "Shiko."
