It tragic that the reason why Kiyo was in such a rush was because of him finding out that Yama's terminal disease started to spread all over his spine and into his ribs...



Things weren't going well for Togawa but a walk with Larry revealed that Tora's out there and aware of his drink buddy's recent achievements in the sport. That was all he needed to realize that he needs to get his act together if he wants his team to get anywhere. He was tempted to do Paralympic sprinting but figured that those artificial legs can give too much of an advantage once someone gets the hang of it.

                        A really good chapter that sheds some more light on Kiyo's feelings towards track running.



I remember being surprised that he didn't go for running with a prostethic leg after the first few flashback chapters but I guess the answer really is that Yama and Tora were the ones who gave his life a purpose again and made him love Basketball ; therefore he chose it over running.



I fear that Kiyo's disease will return before he reaches the top (or as he does) near the end of the story; I hope it really doesn't come to this.



Seeing Yama in this reduced state was painful.



I'm glad that Tora's message was able to get through to Kiyo.



I wonder if his resolve is strong enough!
