Habaki is the one that wanted to create an immortal man and got doctors to experiment on Manji. He also established Mugai-Ryu (Giichi/Shira/Hyakurin/some other guys whose names I don't remember) whose task was to get rid of Itto-Ryu.



The guy at the beginning is called Baro (ain't his sword totally sweet? I wonder if anyone ever used something resembling that...). The guys he's fighting against are called Rokki-Dan, I have no idea who they are (another group created by shogunate to eliminate Itto-Ryu?) but I found a picture of them some time ago: http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/336963.

                Isn't Mr. Habaki the man who authorized the deaths of those trying to become immortal? An involvement with the opposition group towards Itto-Ryu? Eh, it's been a while so I'm not sure.



Who was the itto-ryu in the beginning? He's was pretty damn strong an fast. The way Manji is now he wouldn't stand a chance.

yeah, i thought so as well but it would seem rather random after she went through so much trouble to avoid it so i hope for another flashback someday.
