Akira Chapter 88 Discussion

[I am reading the DarkHorse issue of Akira. Here 120 chapters are converted into 38 parts. And the sequence of event is mixed up to match the new format. So, I know how many chapters I have read but do not know what part belong to which chapter.]



We haven't seen what happened to George and Ryu after Tetsuo destroyed the portion of the moon. It was nice to see that Kaneda and Kay have gotten really attached to each other and what Miyako's motive was from the beginning. As well by Akira still act like a child. I am hyped to see America and Kaneda finally confront Tetsuo and Akira.



But for the love of God; we still haven't got the reason why was this project, which created Akira, even started. What is Colonel goals? I would be really disappointed because then all of what his character have done would have no impact for me in retrospect.

Even more assembling of troops. The Colonel's scientist and the allied armies are now playing tug-of-war over SOL. The chapter ends with Kei going through purification (nip slip).
