Akira Chapter 14 Discussion

I'm gonna turn this into volume 1 discussion:



I'm already in love with the series. The mysteries are done so nice, every time we get an answer, a new question befalls us!



However, Kaneda is extremely unrealistic. I mean, he sees a really old child who disappears into thin air and the only thing he can think of when meeting him again is "I'm gonna pound you"??? Who does that? And it also seems that he insist on being your typical bully gangster teenager regardless of all the unnatural stuff that's going on around him. This is the only complaint I have with the series so far.



My favorite scene: (I just love the expression on the waiter's face)

It might be due to the "additional" scenes but the ESPs look a lot more destructive and terrifying in the manga. I liked this impression of power. Also, the elements coming into place with more time helped to get more familiar with the setting.

Episode 14: Pages 261-279 of the Kodansha publication.

The first chpters is a little confused, but in the second half of the volume, start the action and the mistery... but the best of all, is when arrives to this point, can not stop to read ;)

Man I've misplaced my vote - it's supposed to be 4 out 5



I almost dropped the manga after the few first chapters, bur here I'm again and it's getting more interesting.



Akira reminds me of GITS, as like GITS sometimes it has so many small details on panels that it looks completely chaotic.
