This chapter was really good! We can see a bit more about Toukajin, and in the end, he wasn't a youkai after all! His only motivation was to become stronger; it seems that during this period, from the murder of his master until his encounter with InuYasha, he became even crazier than he already was. He turned into a cannibal in his desperate attempts to unlock the secret of immortality. InuYasha refusing to take Toukajin's potion adds an even greater layer of sensitivity and moral judgment to the character; he knew that it was created from human lives and, therefore, was something repugnant. Excellent!
