This chapter really surprised me. I wasn’t expecting a writer as conservative as Rumiko Takahashi to depict premarital sex between the main characters in a love hotel. What’s more, she even included a depiction of erectile dysfunction, a topic I never expected in a mainstream manga from the 80s. I don’t know where they are going with this though as it implies they don’t have the sexual chemistry to become a couple. If she isn’t over soichiro now… how can she ever be? And would it really bother godai so much that she mentioned having to pick up her dog Soichiro that he couldn’t get off to the woman he’s been lusting after for so long?
