                        This chapter confirmed my suspicions that the manga has changed the story in a key way compared to the anime.  I will avoid spoilers, but it concerns Rei.  I wonder what this will do to the rest of the story.

Wait a minute, we didn't see how and why Dr. Akagi died? Hopefully that will be shown later. It was an interesting flashback, wish it had gone into more detail than the anime did though. King of feels like a missed opportunity.



Also, I kind of liked the scene between Rei and Shinji. Rei is going in a pretty interesting direction here.

Darn, they didn't show why Dr. Akagi (the current ones mother) killed herself. That was such an interesting moment in the anime, since it was confusing as heck at first. But oh well. More Shinji/Rei coupling this chapter. It's very interesting to see the manga pushing those 2 together more than any other version of the series.

The moment between Rei and Shinji was great in this chapter.



And this chapter shows why I don't like Yui -- she was just as bad as Gendo, if not more so. She abandoned and traumatized her family, all for her own selfish desires.



I have to admit that Kaji's behavior perplexes. Why bring Fuyutsuki to SEELE in the first place then? Why did he change his mind?

Nice Rei x Shinji moment there.

Kaji might be counting his last minutes sadly.



I'm pretty sure they explain the death of Dr. Akagi later on.
