Erusia is a genius, a true genius in the purest sense of the word, not that Laurentia is s*upid or common, no, she is very intelligent and talented, above the media in fact, but Erusia is a unique genius.
At least that's how it's described in the story.
Erusia learned to speak earlier, at the age of 5 she read books on economics and everything else, the family was happy and joyful with her intelligence and talent, singing loudly how the family would prosper thanks to her, while Laurentia heard how she should always support her sister who would be the future of the family.
So they started to raise them with this level of environment, that the better you were, the more loved you would be, the more value you had to the family, Laurentia, who although she was an excellent child, was still far behind her younger sister, although Even though they learned the same thing at the same time, the level between them was as different as heaven and earth.
And Laurentia became a s*ave to that kind of feeling.
Until the fall happened, one day Laurentia fell and hurt her knee and was bedridden because of it, and when she saw that everyone in the family cared about her, she saw that there was another way to win love besides proving her worth through talent and of intelligence. That's when she started to hurt herself.
The pain managed to bring what Laurentia had never achieved before, which was attention and love.
When a family saw that these were not just accidents, this situation needed a choice, but that choice did not fall on the family but on Erusia.
Erusia felt guilty, she felt very guilty, she thought that her existence hurt her sister, that it was she who should suffer and not her older sister. Then she started to close herself off, for the sake of her family and her sister, she put herself in darkness, stopped being excited, started making mistakes, basically went into depression.
Laurentia didn't notice, as she was immersed in the joy of finally getting attention
[collapse]Until they were 8 years old, their parents died, yes, this whole shitty situation above, was when they were little children, to see the extent of the irresponsibility of this bunch of adults ruining two children. The reason Erusia exploded:SpoilerLaurentia attempted su*cide, in her greed for attention she increased until she tried to take her own life.
In this episode, Erusia finally decided to stay in the shadows and let her sister be the protagonist.
When her parents died, Laurentia basically had a crying fit every day, the shock of losing her parents was so great that she forgot all the previous events, she forgot almost her entire childhood, her mind changed so much, that some she believed that that was Erusia who did it, like the su*cide attempt and how she was always sick and exhausted since she was a child, even though it was her, but because they were twins her mind made her believe that she was the younger sister.
The fact that Laurentia forgot what she did is the reason for Erusia's hatred.
Erusia hates Laurentia because she forgot that her motive was to pretend to be sick, to feel pain, to be sick, to disappear so that her sister could shine, to give up being the main character, to give up the love of her family, to forget that she is the genius among the two, she should be in charge of everything. Hearing Laurentia complain about how difficult the family's job was, she felt angry inside.
"I would do better" "I sacrificed everything for you" "Your position is through my sacrifice" "And you don't even know it!"
So this grew and grew, until she decided to take everything away from Laurentia, thinking that everything was always hers from the beginning. If she couldn't be the main character, she would be the villain.
[collapse]The funny thing is that all this happened and their grandfather always knew, he knew everything and he let this game continue to turn into this mess.SpoilerBecause of his grief he isolated himself and left them both, Laurentia had to learn how to take care of her family while Erusia was stuck pretending to be sick, he only woke up remembering that he should take care of them (emotionally). In this timeline he realized how separated they were, but even though he noticed this situation between them, he didn't know how he should act.
Fortunately in this timeline, he managed to tell the whole story clean to both of them, they managed to at least understand each other, after all they had a biased view of past events and did not have a general view of what had happened, he was the one who told Erusia what that Laurentia suffered out of her sight, that her life wasn't easy, but that she didn't see because she was trapped in her room.
And he tells Laurentia what Erusia suffered, having to hide who she was and tolerate being the only one who remembered their bad childhood.
Ao explains how they both suffered and says it's his fault for not doing it sooner
[collapse]Anyway, the story is good overall, it's not perfect, nor a masterpiece, but it's fun to read and good entertainment.
