The novel is... very messy. It's a decent read to say the least, and the translation isn't that bad. I really, really have tried to enjoy this novel because the concept is pretty sweet and I'm a sucker for fluffy novels, but there's just a lot of plot holes and mistakes piled one after another that just can't easily be ignored.I'm gonna say the good points of this novel first so you wouldn't be discouraged to read this.
- MC & his brother:MC and his brother have a GOOD and REALISTIC relationship (on behalf as a sibling myself). MC cares about him and so does his brother, their interactions are very normal and I would have love it if their backstory was more fleshed out. Also to be honest, MC and his brother have a better relationship and chemistry than him and the ML which really just sucks.
- Characters:Personally, I think there were too many characters that weren't that much involved in keeping the plot moving. Most of their screen time, (I'm talking to you, the kindergarten parents), weren't needed at all. I was confused on which was which because there were too many side characters plus they had nicknames, pretty useless, and the parents didn't even appear as much even til the end of the story. There were a lot of inconsistent character backstories and mistakes because let's be honest, "why not"? :D
- Story/plot itself:The story has a LOT of plot holes is very rushed, especially the ending. Chi Siyuan's, Keke's, Ruirui's and Xiao Qi's grand/parents, etc. were relevant for ONLY one or a few scenes then vanished into thin air. The Antagonist himself was a sudden addition, like he for real was defeated off screen even when he was established to be highly threatening, with a not-so-fleshed-out backstory. The climax... was pretty bad and the ending wasn't great, especially with the time skip.
