After Resigning, I Became Popular all over the Universe [Quick Transmigration] Chapter 29 Discussion

I feel like (judging by the other review) the main reason why I had to stop reading this novel would not be a future problem in other arcs but...

not a spoiler but it's a bit long

Spoiler

The sheer amount of: China is omg so good everyone so nice it's all amazing here the government isn't garbage weheehee makes me want to commit democracy. Every single chapter i've read is not exempt from nationalist propaganda, with at least one mention of how foreigners are oh so jealous and chinese people are oh so proud of their country. (Boy did the other review not prep me for the amount of nationalism)

(Responding to the other review that I think was intended for this one: I do not mind patriotism. In fact, I feel that dedicating yourself to your country is extremely admirable. However, when patriotism goes into the realm of logical impossibility, that's when I have a problem. Basically, so you're saying that China was somehow pushed down by these 'lesser' powers, and yet were only able to reverse it through the virtue of a single person. e.g give me ANYTHING. even a flyaway comment about how the foundation of china is good because of the measures previously implemented and that the MC only expanded on that please. I'm begging. It's to the point where I feel like China has lowkey been insulted and portrayed as incompetent. If you want a 'good', or at least, somewhat less egregious example of patriotism for China, read 'A Passerby Becomes the Savior After His Innermost Thoughts Are Revealed'. This novel actually makes me not hate China as much.)

I know why I feel this way, and it's because the characters feel like caricatures. No complexity to ANYONE whatsoever, including the MC and ML (so far). It also feels forced, with essentially none of China's powers coming from the natives, and instead fully relying on the mc's big big brain. If you insist that china is the best country, at least have some other smart characters other than MC and unnamed scientist man #8 please.

I despise how everyone in foreign countries are depicted as a**holes who have nothing better to do than make fun of chinese people, and the chinese people are 'gracious' enough to forgive them. The foreigners are also shown as greedy and somewhat short sighted, especially the ones in high positions (nepotism babyyyy)

The chinese people, to me, feel like sheep, especially in the second chapter. Obeying the government unconditionally (now that I think about it, isn't that unlikely) and the dichotomy between them and the disobedient foreigners to paint them as white eyed wolves, especially when china SPECIFICALLY retrieves their 'people' and only their people to purposely make them jealous (at least to me). My family were killed in the chinese uprising so not really a surprise that I don't like communism all that much. Not to mention that Chinese people are reportedly some of the most xenophobic people out there.

Turning off your brain is also very integral to the enjoyment of this story, with the way I cringed so hard at the protagonist's actions that I had thought way too hard about. any semblance of logic will fall apart so don't even try.

I could mention a lot more, like how the MC decided to 'prank' an entire country for funsies, where the only crime they did was poach talents and push china around a bit, and potentially ruin the entire economy, may have killed multiple people and ruined the electronics industry. but hey, that's what you get for going against the halo I guess.

My review's getting too long so i'll stop it here.

TLDR: china best. do not resist.
