An average story. The idea is good (not original, just good), but the execution is subpar. It is too much of a wish-fulfillment story.Let me go through some weak points of the story:
- MC is a chad most of the time, but then he has these beta moments... such as going "Captain Save-a-hoe" or doing things that basically equal submission to his wife like in those relationships where a guy is p-whipped. It clashes with suspension of disbelief and shows the author doesn't know how women think (which is also apparent given how they don't really seem to get jealous of each other - being culturally indoctrinated to allow things like polygamy, such as ancient women were, doesn't mean they wouldn't be jealous and compete for the husband's favor and so on).
- MC being a blind dude has no meaning because he's completely compensated for it, and can still "see." A good story would've made up for it partially and still left some handicap, such as that one manga with a blind swordsman (I think it was called Until death do us part). Yes, he has a limited range of vision, but that still isn't much.
- Generally things are too easy for MC. He can easily dispatch his enemies and go home to have xxx with his wives. For example, I expected some long arc where he takes on Lu Buwei, but it ended anticlimactically quickly. The pace is way too quick; I'd have enjoyed that part much more had they engaged in a long conflict. Also, MC basically defeated him thanks to a woman, and not so much with his own skill and effort.
- Speaking of wives, they come too easy, too many, and lack some depth when all is said and done. The author also does the usual harem novel thing where "old" waifus are shelved for a long time so that "new" waifus can have their time... which basically means the author has no skill to write about them all at once. Which would be fine if it was just a short mini arc at a time (~20 chapters for example), but it's longer.
