I can hardly believe this was written by the same person who wrote The Earth is Online, one of my favourite novels, rightfully published internationally. This one is very obviously targeted at a completely different audience, it's so stereotypical BL that it hurts.MC is apparently very intelligent, not a single character isn't in awe over his massive brain, it gets mentioned in every chapter some other character is present in.Nothing he does, thinks or concludes is intelligent, it's very basic common sense, that the writer let's everyone point out how awesome he is would imply that they are all below-average in terms of IQ.MC is a normal student, yet he has total control over his emotions and even natural instinct, he's probably a sociopath or at least chronical liar as well because absolutely nothing shows on his face, no emotions at all, his poker face is perfect.Of course, he's also super quick in figuring out various skills, instead of like everyone else who needs months or years to even understand their own, much less other's.Nothing to say about his appearance, take the usual Danmei MC and you already know it.And yes, there's a mystery surrounding him, just in case someone missed the big sign saying "I'm the MC" that he's carrying around.ML is, of course, the tall, broad, mysterious super OP guy everyone fears and admires.Side character are stereotypes as well. The white haired strong and fierce one, the good guy with the goofy smile, the cheeky teen, and so on.Story execution and world building are wonky if you want to be generous, horrendous if you want to be honest.Info dumbs. So many, never ending info dumbs.Fillers, lots of unnecessarily long-winded sentences, wordcount inflation, and repetition of already established information. No logical consistency.Spoiler
The writer seemed to have forgotten that the government who drags MC into their organisation has checked his background right at the start. They know who he is, where he lives, and therefor with whom he lives with.
He tells them he lives alone, while he officially lives with his mother.
A secret government organisation somehow completely forgot that he's living with his mom and that he just straight up lied to their face. Several times.
They ask him about his family at different points, clearly not knowing anything, despite even knowing which uni he goes to, which major he's in, etc.
Yeha, no. At least keep it consistent and somewhat logical. This kind of basic mistake should not be made by a writer, much less a published one.
[collapse]I'm only 30 chapters in and these points are piling up higher and higher, suspension of disbelieve can't save a story from a lack of basic logic. The writer probably wanted to get wider commercial success by sinking down to the level of low-quality mass-produced Danmei that just wants to sell to a big audience and didn't intent to be an actual, professional novel like The Earth is Online. It's not working for me, there are enough objectively mediocre novels that are at least funny, cute, or have decent action/drama/thrill, this one here has neither, just a lot of weaknesses instead.
