Firstly, I'll admit the first 4 chapters start off with really s*upid references, but as time goes on the story starts to stand on it's own. With that in mind the story gradually gets more detailed and expresses the strangeness of the world from the POV of the main character with incomplete knowledge of his surroundings.I especially like how the setting such that the MC doesn't have the leisure to act like a genius either, because despite all his knowledge it only makes him appear smart when he is a child, and he acknowledges that as time goes on his short-comings will very rapidly catch up with him once he reaches adulthood. After-all, he doesn't have a real "cheat" in this world.
