I like this but this novel is definitely written for a specific audience and if you don't fall within that group there is a good chance you will hate it.It's a chinese telling of an alternate japanese history which is kind of just bizzare but I really like it. The internal struggle of the MC is really interesting to me. It's almost comedic and tragic at the same time. A lot of characters have just enough mystery or personality to them to keep them interesting. Also, The translations are actually done really really well. All of that being said, the story does have flaws. All the females are lesbian somehow. There is a particular characteristic in a lot of Chinese novels where characters show disproportionate amounts of agression or retailation to even the most mundane slights. Those tendencies are present in this novel and they do annoy me every time. Some of the ecchi scenes are well done but a vast majority of them are repetitive or just forced without any real logic as to how or why these things are happening. The author seems to have a few different fetishes that they lean into quite heavily. If you share those fetishes it's probably not a big deal. But, if you're like me and you dont share those fetishes.... is uh.. it's a lot sometimes.Like I said, I really like this but I would have a really really hard time recomending it to a good majority of people. It's definitely a niche type of novel and not for everyone. But hey, if you're feeling adventurous give it a go.
