The plot is driven forward by misunderstandings, which I really hate. I don't even feel second-hand embarrassment; just annoyance.The novel also reads like a recipe book. I don't need a step-by-step guide on how to make duck tongue soup and I don't want to know all the dishes the MC is cooking- which can take up more than half the chapter with the ML's reaction to said cooking.From what I've seen so far, the MC is also timid and a pushover. I guess the tags do say he has trauma but I feel like he's not likeable enough for me to stick around and see how he heals.Overall, a disappointing and frustrating novel. I don't perceive any fluff either so I don't understand why the rating is so high.
