The Peerless Kobold (WN) Chapter 133 Discussion

This novel was fun and reasonably entertaining for the first several arcs. I wished that we had gotten more of an exploration of the character dynamics among the kobold pack, maybe some romantic drama among the side characters, but it's whatever, watching them acquire new powers was cool.

Unfortunately, the arc set in the elf kingdom was maybe the clumsiest and most insensitive handling of fantasy racism that I've seen. "Oh, social equality is bad actually, it's totally cool to disenfranchise more than half of your population, and if they have protests because you denied them the right to vote then it proves that social change has to be gradual (read: has to not happen) so as not to upset the rich and powerful. Also paid protestors violent extremism yadda yadda." Just total reactionary schlock, really disappointing.

One star for dogs**t politics.
