Novel is not bad, if a little bland, you can see most "plot twists" come from a mile away, the combat is basically the characters using skills over and over and the characters feels like ones you have read a thousands times before. To give a little more detail about the plot without spoilers, it's one of those that if the MC didn't exists, the bad guys would have steamroller all over the good guys from the first fight. The novel also depends a lot on the author doing stuff like showing conversations between the bad guys, but not using names or even full conversations to try and keep some mystery, but it really falls flat most of the time.As for the characters, the only interesting one is the MC, and that's only because halfway through the story the author decided to make him half insane, so it's at least amusing to see him. The female MC is just a cookie cutter tsundere brought back from some manga of the 90s, the only interesting thing about her is how blatantly obvious the author keeps giving her buffs to have her keep up with the MC, it's a shame that the harem tag is a lie because that would at least mean that she would have less screen time. The rest are basically one dimensional, with no depth or development at all, and exists only to do one job, you don't even need to know their names, just need to know what role they play and you are good to know
