Wow.

I rarely wrote reviews on NovelUpdates but for this one, I felt a compulsion to write one. For those of you who came here thinking it's a 'youjo senki' wannabe, it is not. The story has a similar background and theme, but it focuses more on the emotional aspects and tragedy of war than military stories.

This story follows the life of an elite soldier (MC) and her feelings throughout the war. The MC is not an all-powerful soldier like that in youjo senki; she is just one of the victims dragged through war, succumbed to its violence, and prevailed. It tells the story not from the perspective of the 'protagonist of the world' but from one of the participants of the war.

This is the kind of story that aims to bring you what it felt like to be a soldier during a war. You will feel sad, melancholy, and wistful through the tragedy being told. There might be little plot holes here and there, and the military strategies being used here might not make much sense on a deeper level. However, if you came here for the feeling this book can bring you, you are at the right place.
