He’s Pregnant with the Major General’s Fish Cub Chapter 56 Discussion

This is actually a really fun novel. I'm usually skeptical when is comes to mixing different ideas together, i.e. Mermaids and interstellar mecha fights, but the author makes it work.

Like most dog-blooded drama, most of the conflict comes from misunderstood intentions. Most of that misunderstandings are centered around MC and most of it is hilarious. It's not laugh-your-guts-out funny, but the humor is consistent to where you always have a smile on your face. But the real selling point when it comes to the misunderstandings is that the author doesn't make it feel like they're constantly beating a dead horse by telling the same joke. There's always progression in unraveling those misunderstandings until the truth is revealed.

MC themselves are fun. It actually feels like you're getting to know them. Their personality is that of a cat. They're a cat until you realize how silly they can be. And despite being silly, he's not in a constant state of needing to be taken care of. Yes, he plays mostly as a damsel in distress in most cases, but he's a damsel that will do his best to kick you in the nethers as you succeed and what are you going to do about it? He's hilarious.

ML is literally there because he's along for the ride. Like he got trapped in a whirlpool of MC's shenanigans. At first he tried to fight it, then got super invested, and got attached and will literally beat down anyone that dares to get caught in the same whirlpool. Like an aquatic ant lion.

The plot itself feels generic. A typical, 'oh no, a bad ending!' MC that wants to fight for his happy ending. But the mermaid aspect in the interstellar genre really makes this feel different from the other interstellar stories. New problems and new solutions. A different kind of flare. And the way the plot easily integrate mermaid problems feels smooth to where mermaids should always be part of the interstellar genre.

I do highly recommend and lots of live to the translators!!
