The Academy’s Barbarian Chapter 215 Discussion

I'm quite surprised by overwhelming 5 star ratings, this novel is mediocre at best. Tbh beginning was entertaining, it was refreshing to read about a Korean MC with such a strong personality. It is the only plus point in the story. But after 50-60 chapters, author started focusing on harem and catfights, it quickly became annoying.

First of all author probably didn't plan anything before writing this novel. There was zero worldbuilding in the first 150 chapters i.e, 40% of the novel.

Secondly there's a lack of tension in the writing. It goes like this, something terrible is about to happen and then the next chapter is about bickering among harem's candidates over who will hold MC's hand. Story is full of wrong moments like this.

Lastly, author couldn't even create a smart character. Everyone is just dumb in the story. Aside from harem infighting, this made me drop the novel.

To sum up, if you want to avoid typical KR MCs, then you can read it. But after 50-60 chapters, story will be full of typical misunderstanding cliches, harem cliches and average plot.
