At first, the story is fairly interesting and seeing the MC's actions and reactions to his surroundings is quite fun. The world-building and the characters are very shallow but I wasn't expecting some amazing quality going into this novel and so was enjoying reading it.BUT, I got tired of the MC's ridiculously annoying personality after he just wouldn't grow up even though many things backfired onto him. He doesn't want to be promoted yet keeps doing things otherwise. He has an extremely wishy-washy mind... he doesn't want to get involved with the main characters too much but also can't leave them. So he keeps swinging from one end to the other. Oh and he's an extreme pushover and does s*upid things like not killing his enemies because he just doesn't like it (even though the same enemies were willing to mu*der him and his friends just seconds ago). There is just no character growth and I was constantly getting frustrated reading this so I dropped it.
