Guide to Failing as a Full-Level Green Tea Chapter 108 Discussion

This novel... it's different from the summary... not in a bad way per se just not what I expected. It feels much more serious than the summary implies--hinting at harem/political intrigue, drama with generational grievances, etc. and while the FL does have her schemes... she doesn't really come off as a "green tea" at all.

like if we're being fully honest to the title--girl didn't just fail as a full level green tea--she wasn't really one to begin with! You can't fail if you never start lol

in terms of the intrigue

She doesn't act as a green tea as much as spend her time bonding with the OGFL, carrying out minor schemes, being the head of an assassin/info guild, trying to avoid emotional attachments, dodge becoming a pawn for the emperor's harem, return to her world, etc. but the intrigue that she gets caught up in is helping the crown prince (her husband) investigate the death of his mother (the previous empress) in exchange for her freedom/divorce. She proceeds to get warned off by the emperor's aide and runs into dead ends/obstacles at least up until ch 108 where I am. All this to say though that the story is interesting and I'm curious where it'll end.

There are a handful of things I really like about this novel so far though and feel it deserves better than a 3 hence I'll give it a 5/5.

PROS

-FL genuine friendship with the OGFL. They depend on, care for, and help each other. FL saves the OGFL from an attempted s**ual assault in the emperor's concubines palace by another prince. OGFL saves FL from a group of assassins etc.

-FL tries to avoid becoming emotionally attached to the transmigrated world but she maintains her humanity/common decency. For those who read CN novels she maintains the bottom line. She saves a baby kitten from death "because it didn't do anything wrong and is innocent"

-She refuses to be a pawn in anyone's game. When in dire situations she isn't a damsel in distress. She finds the way to save herself.

-We get to see the FL meet and interact with other FL characters in a positive way and we get to see the FL actually admire and respect other female characters. This is a big win for me, so many CN WN just make all other female characters = antagonists = mindlessly evil/s*upid to offset the main FL halo. But NOT this story👏 (it does also have female antagonists tho for the drammmaaa)

-FL cares about her remaining family and they care about her. Especially her older sister.

CONS: so far I don't like the ML (if it's the crown prince YUCK) also don't love that random memories pop up for the FL with very little reason/logic/resolution.

translation wise, thanks to the translating team! It's been a fun and smooth read so far. Def worth checking out even if the summary gives a different vibe than the story. I'd recommend!
