I enjoyed this novel. I usually don’t read romance, but I wanted a bit of smut and romance so here I am. The writing was smooth, with good conversational tone. The switches in perspective between characters worked well. The smut was hot as hell... when it wasn’t having reality intrude upon it. I have to say that although I haven’t experienced a relationship like this, it was believable. While the tropes of relatives liking the same person, age gaps, classmates, etc were all standard, the overall narrative flowed well. There’s nothing shocking, dramatic, or outlandish about this story and maybe that’s why it works. Two people who come together under extra ordinary circumstances, have misconceptions and miscommunication, work on their flaws, talk, and have a HE. What makes this story work is that we like the characters so that we can imagine ourselves in their places or imagine their HE if it was instead ourselves or our own lives. Anyway, well written, charismatic, with a wide range of emotional expression and experiences. Trying not to give details since they don’t really matter. It’s a nice, quick read I recommend.
