I am not a native english speaker and I am not bilingual so sorry if there are mistakes in the review.

I will not give a rating to the story as I didn't finish it yet.

The MC get employed as a tutor in a rich family for the children of the mansion (twins). The job's conditions are a bit strange but she still goes as she needs money and wants to escape her own family problems.

She wasn't sold to a rich man by her mother as the resume seems to indicate. But she has a very complicated relationship with her. The mother misses the time when they were rich and depense a lot while thinking that marrying off her daugther would be the best solution to their debts.

However, the focus of the novel is more on the mansion where the MC is employed. The mansion has a lot of peculiar rules and the employees and children the MC is teaching seem to be trying to get her to break them.

The spoiler won't spoil you that much as it is my hypothesis and not facts about the plot of the novel.

Spoiler

They all have very weird behaviors that make you wonder if they are really alive. I don't think the children are alive, but the MC didn't think about it yet somehow.

It looks like the eldest son is trapped in the mansion. Maybe the mother is trapped too, I don't know and the tutor is definitely not innocent. He makes me think about the monster in the fairytale in the beginning of the novel. Surely there is a link between the story and the fairytale, and the MC is the heroine who is supposed to save the guy.

There will definitely be a lot of surnatural elements but the story is not very scary, it is more on the mysterious side. Until the last chapter I read (55) it does not get boring, you keep on wanting to know what happens afterwards and why the people in the mansion are like that now.

About the romance, I wouldn't recommend this story if you are mostly looking for it. I think there will still have a subplot about it though. There is a tag about a love triangle, probably between the MC, the other tutor and the eldest son, but for what I have seen so far, the other tutor is way too suspect to be a real love interest.

To conclude this is a good story with a mysterious setting, I recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers.
