A must read! Long, plotty, worldbuilding with deep messages about humanity, evil/good and free will. Some minor characters die, although most of the main cast lives to the end, but this is nonetheless a hopeful story. ML is one of the most adorable I've seen with his mini-octopus form. I really liked the action in this, it reminded me of a shounen that still incorporated romance really well. I also liked the companions of the MC, their powers evolve just as his do and they have their own personalities and arcs.
