the ML was told the MC was his son but he never bothered with a paternity test so the truth is ultimately left up to the reader. The reactions of the other family members were nonexistent and there was universal acceptance. No one thought less of the ML for having s*x with his seventeen-year-old son or thought he was taking advantage of the boy and no one thought it was strange that the two hooked up, nor brought up the fact that they were closely related. No one was grossed out by it. The mc's bro was a little uncertain and uncomfortable for a whole chapter but that's it. Oh, and it's the end of the world. But that is secondary to the MC chasing his Daddy. The MC isn't the smartest character but he's not a total idiot MC, though he's often treated (and sometimes acts) more like he's a small child rather than a teenager. And the whole rebirth into what I can only assume is an alternate reality isn't explained, (though I admit to assuming it has something to do with the jade necklace since that's a fairly stereotypical trope in these eow stories).
[collapse]the novel is kind of tepid, as there isn't a lot of tension or much conflict to stir up emotions nor do they undergo any kind of hardship as they are, by eow standards, very rich and very OP; they are never desperate, hungry, dirty, or scared. By the time I hit c125, my interest had simply faded out and I felt no need to continue. I'll try again at a later date.
