Gave up just before the end! It's not as bad as I was expecting, perhaps the reviews I read before lessened the blow a bit and made it seem less annoying XD but yeah! I consider it an okay read overall (oh, and the MTL, when the raw is plugged into Google Translate, is incredibly comprehensible = 85-90%, so there are no issues caused by the incomplete translation.) Summary: The premise of the novel is that the MC (Tang Miao) died and woke up back in time. At least, that what it appears like at first. He goes back to the age of 16 and wanted to improve his relationship with his father, who had sacrificed for him in his previous life. Only, things keep going wrong after his rebirth. First, he discovered that he had a large magical space where one can plant and store living things. Second, he began to have dreams of an upcoming apocalypse -- a zombie apocalypse. He stubbornly tried to deal with things himself at first, but soon enough, he had to borrow the strength of his father (who is the ML, BTW! Called, Tang Sihuang) to start preparing for the upcoming calamity. The rest of the story that follows is survival-based. There isn't really any over-arching goal here, so it reads more like a slice of life novel. You know, the day to day life of a father-and-son pair in the apocalypse. That kind of thing. Their style is powerful but low-key, so their movements are very restrained most of the time, which makes the focus of the story sometimes stray from survival to cooking and hoarding materials lol.CHARACTERS: 6/10One of the main issues people seem to have of this novel are the characters. Most specifically, the MC. I didn't find him completely unlikeable, but I didn't like him either --- so I guess that's me agreeing with the general consensus. LOL. Other than that, I still think that the overall character development was okay. Nothing too ground-breaking, but nothing too bad either.Tang Miao (MC) The MC is your typical, stubborn and idiotic shou. His character is a bit inconsistent, sometimes he's inexplicably smart and astute, sometimes he's just very very dumb LOL. There is a reason for most of his actions though -- in his previous life, his father sacrificed himself for him, so in this life, the most important thing to him is his father.Tang Sihuang (ML) The ML is very close to your typical ML prototype. He's stoic, possessive, and powerful. I didn't think much about him as a result DXROMANCE: 6/10Because of the in*est factor, some people may seriously dislike this novel. I knew of it in advance and didn't mind since the MC and ML were both adults (both mentally and physically). The development was also okay. Kind of cliche at times, but nothing too bad.SETTING: 9/10The setting of this novel is very similar to your typical CN Zombie Apocalypse. Humans have evolved superhuman abilities as a result of a cosmic accident, and there are zombies roaming about with increased strength. However, there's less attention to humans leveling up, because the function of zombie nuclei remains mysterious until the end. I like this setting because of the survival aspect, so my rating is pretty high~PLOT: 8/10As mentioned, the focus of the story is really more on the slice of life, survival aspect. The main CP doesn't rush to establish a name for themselves, instead focusing on collecting materials and just surviving the day-today apocalypse outside. I happen to like this slow-paced development, but some may find it a bit boring.RATING: 3.6/5To wrap things up quickly, my opinion of this novel is that it just so happened to hit some right spots for me, but it may not be for everyone!
