As of chapter 8, the chapters are indeed short, but the pacing is slow. Nothing has happened, and and only a small amount of information is given about his siblings. At the end of chapter 8, the MC seems like he will finally interact with others more. So far, the small interactions with the family seem interesting. It also seems like the MC will begin fighting goblins.
